NBXL Announces American Basketball Club as Third Franchise
October 27, 2024 – USA – In a landmark moment for professional basketball, the NBXL, the first US-Middle East based independent professional basketball league, officially introduces the American Basketball Club as its third franchise.
The American Basketball Club joins the league’s initial franchises: the Expo City Dubai Innovators from the United Arabs Emirates and the NJ-Pros from the United States. This latest addition offers basketball fans across the U.S. a new team to support, expanding the league's U.S. representation beyond New Jersey. In an upcoming announcement, the league will unveil a fourth and final franchise to represent the Middle East.
Christian Villar, NBXL’s founder and owner, understands the competitive nature of American sports. His vision for the American Basketball Club is to create a franchise that resonates with fans from all corners of the United States. With only two U.S.-based teams, Villar aims for the American Basketball Club to serve as a unifying team for fans from states beyond New Jersey, complementing the NJ-Pros' established presence in the league.
Following the announcement of the final Middle Eastern franchise coming up, NBXL will release updates on player signings, staff appointments, and partnerships for all four teams as it gears up for its inaugural season.
